As much as it seems that teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for Kids is a difficult task, authentic BJJ instructors have no problem with that. The first question that an instructor trainee asks is:

What do I teach for kids in terms of submissions, etc?

- First, a quick read in the official Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu rules sanctioned by the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation, will tell you what NOT to teach.

The Brazilian / International Federations has thoughtfully reached through the years a high level of technical restrictions according to the age and rank of BJJ fighters. In Brazil, children 4 years old and above can dispute official tournaments such as the Brazilian Nationals.

- Second, as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a complex martial art, the estabilishment of a learning process through a standardized curriculum can be used as a guide to facilitate the learning of hundreds of techniques, always respecting the indivudual capabilities.

A person in charge of teaching Kids can use BJJ as one of the most powerful tool to develop physical abilities.

- Third, the instructor needs to be passionate for teaching kids and remember at all times that kids have different capabilities and individual needs in terms of physical development. To comprehend the children's physical development process and the cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains is mandatorily to achieve the best results.
